THE HEARTBREAK ISSUE
Volume 2

Full disclosure: we first made this issue to release around Valentine's Day — you know, to provide something for those of us who didn't have dinner reservations, a bouquet of lilies on our office tables, or a steady love affair that was providing glint to the eye, bounce to the step and so on.

Until, we realized that was almost all of us. Heartbreak, (for those of us who are lucky), does not define a single period in our lives, but lives with us a little all the time. And that is because the truly heartbroken do not fall in (and out of) love with only people, but with animals, geographies, objects and ideas. The pain that follows their abandon, only they know.

This issue goes out to them, the perennial over-thinkers who've been called everything from loyal to over-sensitive. It includes many letters (of course) to strangers, ex-crushes, and to the writers themselves. We've also got you a great playlist (as usual), and a heartbreak guide for those of you who are suffering from the more common rupture.

Matinée

We are all about building communities in the city. We're committed to this, both on and offline. While we're fortunate to have a physical co-working space at The Biv, our community is made up of more than people who book seats and reserve meeting rooms.

Matinee is our bi-monthly online magazine. With a deep focus on the city of Delhi and the characters who make it home, it extends the Biv's tentacles, inviting people in. Warmth, light-heartedness, and language that is decidedly anti-jargon characterizes our voice. We firmly believe that some of the most insightful observations are communicated in this way, and our desire to create Matinee also addresses our longing for easy reads that are both smart and fun. Our contributors are made up of talented writers, readers, entrepreneurs, artists, chefs, and people whose work we love.

And should you be interested in contributing, we'd love to hear from you.

Dear wobbly hearts. Please enjoy: a healthy dose of sweet pain, as prescribed.
